Mechanical Designer


Innobots is seeking a Solidworks Designer to work under the direction of the CTO and Senior Mechanical Designer you will be required to provide assistance to the engineering department.  Candidates would be responsible for creating 3D models and assemblies utilizing in Solidworks. Design mechanical prints and composite materials parts in Solidworks.

Mechanical Designer should have good work ethics and be able to both work individually and with a group.  Candidates would be required to work a minimum of a 30-40 hour work week with the opportunity for overtime if workload is sufficient.

This person will be responsible for the following on a day-to-day basis:
Creating 3D models and assemblies utilizing in Solidworks
Working with customers and engineering personnel to create product designs and recommendations
Assisting with BOM creation
To be qualified for this position, candidates must have:
5+ years of Mechanical 3D Design Experience
Proficiency with Solidworks
High School Diploma (Associate's Degree is preferred)


COMPOSITE TECHNICIAN


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


Working in a R&D environment under limited supervision and working in a loud environment. This position performs a variety of non-routine and non-repetitive procedures and assists in the building and installation of final assembly composite parts made from epoxy resins, fiberglass, carbon and Kevlar fabrics, structural adhesives, rivets, threaded and blind fasteners using various hand tools. Cutting and trimming of composite parts per close tolerances for installation to fixtures, assemblies and subassemblies. Drill, countersink, bond and rig complex composite parts to form assemblies, subassemblies by use of assembly fixtures and precision measuring equipment. Install a variety of aircraft fasteners to manufacture’s specifications. Assembly of Robots components using various hand tools and structural adhesives, rivets, and threaded fasteners.

Works from and interprets engineering drawing and diagrams that do not contain detailed information of all operations. Reads blueprints, diagrams, process sheets, and assembly and schematic drawings. Sets up and operates equipment to make test runs. Examines product for defects, performing required tests, measurement of performance, need for required adjustments and verification of specified tolerances. Records information on appropriate production records, logs and other report forms. Prepares reports as required. Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Recommends measures to improve production methods. Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities. Performs re-work as required. Repairs defective products rejected by inspection or test personnel. Follow planning and accurately fill out and complete work orders with assemblies. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process other control procedures. Assist in the development of shop aids to facilitate fabrication, trimming and assembly as required. The ability to communicate and work closely with others in a team orientated work environment. Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. Other duties as assigned or required.

 Requirements: 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Typically requires High School diploma or equivalent related experience is a plus. Must be able to verbally communicate, read and comprehend written and verbal instructions, detailed blueprints and other similar authorized drawings and documents, and be capable of doing basic mathematical calculations. Must be able to use hand tools, such as rollers, paper cutters, scissors, x-acto knives, electric heat gun and fixtures such as molds and mandrels. Ability to use measuring instruments such as scales and protractors and calipers. Familiarity with common shop tools such as band saws, disk sanders, drill press, wood lathe, etc. May require respirator certification. Must be able to work in a loud environment; work extended hours as required; and be able to lift assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs.


DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to logically plan work steps needed to complete complex assemblies.  Assembly and paint/bodywork experience is a plus. Candidate should have good time management skills.  This individual should also have the ability to adapt to changing work environment and organizational demands.  Prefer knowledge of computer operations and applications.
